That's pretty much standard with most WAV recording software. I use a much cheaper Pioneer cassette deck and CoolEdit2000 Professional. I manually split the recording into different files so I can dump the "silence" (actually hiss) between songs. I have also applied filters to remove pops and scratches from LP recordings and amp hum from a live recording.
