If you could live the life of a movie character, whom would you choose?

I'm blatantly stealing the idea for this from a newsgroup. I thought it was an interesting topic.

The best answers over there were already taken, Nora Charles and Auntie Mame, so consider them listed for me, here.

Also...either Stella or Marina from Local Hero (Stella has the best guy, but Marina has the brains and the fins).

Amelie, for her sense of wonder.

Marge Gunderson from Fargo is a great character, but I couldn't see myself living in North Dakota.

Trinity would be cool, but I'd stay in the Matrix for LONG periods of time. Morpheus would always be getting mad at me and I'd be constantly paranoid about the Agents. On second thought, scratch Trinity. The Oracle is a fascinating character, but I wouldn't want to have to face all those kids to tell them that The One has been found, they can go
    home now.

Eowyn's a possibility, except for the fact that everybody in Middle Earth probably stinks to high heaven. Arwin's a better bet. Rivendell, having all those waterfalls, probably doesn't stink as much as Rohan.

Etheline Tenenbaum's a great character too, if she didn't have to put up with her crazy ex-husband and her depressing kids. (I LOVE that movie, btw)

I always thought that it would be grand to be Bertie Wooster (Jeeves to take care of you, the aunts to make life interesting, as well has having an outstanding chef, and the “Drones” to retire to), but hilarious as P.G. Wodehouse’s stories are, the Jeeves movies are few and not very good. There was a pretty good TV series with Hugh Larie as Bertie and Steven Fry as the redoubtable Jeeves, but I don’t think that I should count TV as a movie.
So, in the same vein, Charles (Hopsie) Pike in The Lady Eve would be about perfect. Hopise is basically pretty clueless, so no one really expects too much. He is rich, without having to expend effort to make money. He is allowed to indulge in his pastimes and hobbies (ok his its snakes, but translate that into what you will). Hopsie has William Demarest to tend to his needs (and while Muggsy may not be so suave as Jeeves, he does bring a certain rough charm to the job). And most importantly he has Barbara Stanwyck to keep life interesting.

Martin Riggs from "Lethal Weapon"...the first one, I mean. I'd want to be the double-barrelled vengeful warrior cop Riggs of the first one, not the wisecracking cuddly father-to-be of the 4th one.

If I could be a female character...either Tess McGill from "Working Girl" or Sarah Connor from the "Terminator" movies.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

Why McGill? I've always wanted to vacuum in the nude.

    Lew's idea works for me!

Besides, I'm sick and can't expend the energy to think of anything...

James Bond, I've always wanted to ski backwards down a mountain whilst shooting at the badguys than dropping off the precipice I'm skydiving towards Blohards airship crashing thru a window killing more villains in various inventive ways and after briefly stopping to make a witty quip at the carnage, I join Blohard for a chat and a Martini (shaken NOT stirred) than noticing the sneaky bastard reaching for his lethal laser whip(?) I kick over his tank of mutated killer goldfish which proceed to eat him, than after quipping Bon Appetite I leap out of the airship press a button on my wristwatch the airship exploding behind me, my parachute opens and I drop safely to earth unaware that the gorgeous but deadly Tanya is waiting...[IMG]

    Hey, cool question!
Of the ones mentioned, I gotta agree with Dirk Diggler and Trent from Swingers.
Moe of The Three Stooges...cuz he was their leader.
Jim Dodge (Frank Whaley) of Career Opportunities...cuz he gets to make out with Jennifer Connelly.
Otter (Tim Matheson) of Animal House...cuz he's so damn cool.
Hudson (Bill Paxton) of Aliens...cuz he's as scared and whiney as we'd all be in his situation, but he kicks some serious ass before dying a hero's death.
John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) of Dark City...cuz he gets to tongue-kiss Jennifer Connelly.
Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) of Say Anything...cuz then every woman I met would immediately fall in love with me.
Neo (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix...cuz then I'd know what's gonna happen in the sequels.
Fielding Pierce (Billy Crudup) in Waking the Dead...cuz he has sex with Jennifer Connelly.
Raleigh St. Clair (Bill Murray) in The Royal Tenenbaums...so I could give Margot Tenenbaum a big hug.
Kristen Conner (Kristy Swanson) in Higher Learning...cuz she shares a lesbian liplock with Jennifer Connelly.
Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve) in Superman...cuz he has a cool haircut.
Cheech (Cheech Marin) in Up in Smoke...cuz I really love {PORTION REMOVED BY MODERATOR}.
John Nash (Russell Crowe) in A Beautiful Mind...cuz, well, you know...
