Edit: Make that 7 years ago, not 4 :)

I was watching what I beleive was an ET report about Home Movies from the set of one of the CBS shows(the show where the husband is a UPS driver) That would be a very cool extra to have on any DVD.

If only people knew that DVD was just down the road, imagine similair behind the scenes looks we could have gotten on shows such as Home improvement, Next Generation, or even game shows like Price is Right....

Too bad it'll never happen now :frowning:..

I think the show you're talking about is King Of Queens, but I've only seen it a few times.

I think he's getting at there were home movies made by some of the cast of KoQ. Also that it is too bad that more home movies weren't made and kept as possible DVD extras from shows long ago. Stuff like Jonathon Frakes walking around the set of TNG or Bob Denver walking around the set of Gilligan's Island and junk like that.

Yes, the video would be the person's that made it, but with the additional $ it would add to sales of the DVDs, they would probably be happy to include them as extras.

Isn't that what is called "B-roll"?

And it isn't always that easy, IIRC some B-roll footage exists for The Terminator, except that the person who now has possession of the footage wanted an unrealistic sum for its inclusion in the SE, and hence it was never acquired. Alternatively, some actors/crew might feel that it's a private thing for their own viewing, and not want it released to the public. Who'd want footage of them throwing a hissy fit being included in a DVD for posterity?

Nowadays, with DVD SEs being planned concurrently with the movie's shoot, B-roll footage, heck the "making-of" documentary, is shot at the same time as the main feature.
