I have a Toshiba 27A44. I will be connecting a progressive scan Panasonic DVD player. The component cables are kind of pricey and I’d rather not mess with it if I can’t tell the difference. Probably just best to go with an S-Video connection, right?

No. Component input will yield a better picture.

That has nothing to do with i or p.

    Pricey? $30?

    Greetings

With component 480i ... you get slightly better colours when compared to S-video. Most people can't tell the difference.

A cheap $5-10 audio/video cable will work just fine as your component cable. Those yellow/red/white ones.

    Regards

Holadem: Hmmm....the ones I was looking at were $50-300.

Michael: Ok...so using the component connection and the included composite cables would still yeild a better picture that the S-Video connection?

Generally yes ... on the cheap included cables. Nothing wrong with testing it to see for yourself.
