Hey all. I bought an HK DVD-22 for use in my new didcated HT room that features an InFocus Screenplay 4805 projector. Well the HK demonstrates a bad lip synch problem, so last night I tested to see if this was a player issue by switching to my old Pioneer DV-434 and the problem was solved. No bad lip synch at all. I want a newer player for my HT, so I'll be taking the HK back to the dealer. I need ideas for a player that works well with the Screenplay 4805. Also, it's been about a month and a half, so I'm sure Circuit City will only give me store credit which limits me to a price range of about $225.00. I do have the receipt though, so who knows.

Doug, I moved the thread to Display Devices, as per your request, although it's a toss-up whether it belongs here or in A/V Sources, where you originally put it. But let's give it a try.

I have an x1, which is similar, just with a slower color wheel and 4x3, and use the LiteOn 2001 upscaled to 1080i( yes I know that the x1 and 4800 just downscale to 480p) and I get great results with that.

Since the LiteOn 2001 is discontinued I would recomend getting another player that upscales over a component connection such as the Bravo D1 or the Zenith.

With the 4805 I would suggest something like the Denon 1910. Use the DVI connection and you should get the best PQ because there would be no D-A and A-D conversions like over component. The 1910 can aslo upscale over DVI but since the 4805 is native 480p you'll probably get the best results in 480p mode (but it's still worth a shot to see which looks best to you). The 1910 sells for $250 at most B&M authorized retailers and closer to $200 online.

Hope this helps :)

I'm using the Panny XP-30 to my 4805 via component. Outstading video quality! Might be a little hard to find the XP-30 now though.
