I want to set up a dual Dayton 15" DVC IB sub in my living room with the subs in the floor into my crawl space. It's a huge crawl space, being ranging from 3 to 5 feet in height. I am concerned about dirt or insects getting into the voice coil assembly (I ran into a million spiders when running CAT5 to my livingroom - gross). Is there a way to prevent this, or should I even be concerned?

Checkout the IB FAQ page. And don't worry about dirt or insects.

my concern would be moisture,I would cover the gravel entirely with a sheet of plastic of at least 4mil.thick, even if it just dirt I still would cover it. a roll of this can be bought at your local builders supply store or hardware
