They do that with X-Files, so why not Stargate?
While I liked the Kinsey and NID episodes, they were not as good for me as the ones off-world where they stuck with the core of the shows premise, exploring and translating other cultures.
I like the down to earth episodes. I have just resently watched, Sight Unseen, for the first time.
I wouldn't be upset if they released a "Best of the N.I.D. and The Trust," "The Best of the Jaffa Freedom Rebellion," "The Best of Earth," and similar sets with the Asgard, Tollan, and Tok'ra. Now that the show is entering a new era (with new enemies), I think it's safe to release these (knowing most of these plots won't be revisited much.)
I would hope the best of would include, "Play all." feature on each disc. I would like to play ALL of the ones featuring Kinsey.
John_Shilpetski, I would think off-world enemies would be different, but are not the on-world enemies, the same? I have not seen past season seven.
Tom, if I am understanding you correctly, most of the Earth villains are the same (Kinsey, NID, the Trust), but even episodes like "Sight Unseen" (and "Ascension" (5x3) would be good to see on a "Best of Earth" set. And, noting you haven't seen S8, they are several on-world episodes. (I count 8 of 20 from memory.)
If they released a best of NID, Trust etc, I would demand every copy be stomped on and melted down for scrap!! I hated these eps of Gate. They have almost ruined the show for me.
As I said, those episodes did not ruin the series for me. I just preferred the off-world, exploring, etc.
I DO like the NID, Kinsey, and The Trust, because it actually makes US the most dangerous villains.
