Hi there:

I had my family's old 8mm video transferred to a dvd at a local a/v business. I recently bought the sony dvd burner(dru-500ax). It comes with sonic mydvd program. I would like to edit the dvd and break it into chapters instead of one continous video, but I don't think sonic my dvd imports .vob files? Can someone help me out here?

Thanks,

John

Check VCDHelp.com. They have VOB extraction tools
you would be best asking there, as jeff said. there is more info than you can possibly ever read. but i see that its now called dvdrhelp.com but vcdhelp.com leads you to there anyway.

What are you using to edit? If it's premiere you'll need to virtualdub it to something else and then recompress

You might want to try "vobedit". Its been awhile since I've used that program but I think it can do what your looking for. It, or a link to it, can be found at vcdhelp.com.
