I think we need a HTF recognition signal

You know, every time I'm at the local Future Shop, or better yet, DVD Wave, I find myself wondering "Gee, I wonder if any of the people here perusing DVDs are on the HTF."

But I don't want to ask, because, well, it sounds like I'm trying to sell drugs. "Hey, man, you look like a fellow who just might be on the HTF." "No. Is that like the crack cocaine?"

So what we need is an official little hand signal or innocuous phrase that can alert people in the area that you're 'in the know.' You know, like 'This room is too small.'

Maybe a hand signal, a recognition phrase, and a little symbol that can be worn on a button.

There was a time when this wouldn't have been a problem. Remember the HTF store?

Have you seen THE STING? The grifters acknowledged each other by rubbing the side of their nose forward with the index finger. Maybe we could do something like that?

I was in Dave's Video yesterday and wondering the very same thing. "Gee, I wonder if I know any of these random strangers in here..."

Would wearing the 3-D glasses that came with the "13 Ghosts" DVD be a little too conspicuous?

I usually shop for DVDs with my fly open and my wang hanging out.

Keep an eye out for me!

I like the idea... but I can't help but think of the Simpson's episode about the Stonecutters. I say we go for a HTF ring, and make it so that we can get free stuff with the ring as well (as with the Stonecutters) [IMG]

Could always use those cricket clicker things like they used at Normandy. You might have to work out a code though.

    1 click = HTF

    2 clicks = AVSForum

    3 clicks = HomeTheaterSpot

4 sharp precise clicks with lots of "air" = I'm a snobby audiophile, don't bother me.

I've seen other groups of people that have a universally recognized logo, which a central group had made into hats, rings, tie clips and other attire, but the individual could easily put it on something themselves. It was pretty simple, so anybody could do it and plain enough that it wouldn't attract more than a glace from a 'normal'. Maybe a logo based around 16x9?

How about HTF, but all in the same space making it look like a gang symbol?

What would our colors be? We could be the yellows?

You can recognize me in the "adult" sections because I'm the only one checking for sound formats on them [IMG]
