i watched last night's epiode with the cave-dwelling human descendants. i gotta say i was less than impressed.
not a single episode has done anything to really spark my interest (excluding the decontamination scene in the pilot [IMG] )
well, maybe i won't give up entirely, but i'm not gonna go out of my way to watch it.
bummer...i was really hoping this show would pan out.

I love it! So do all the "Trekies" that I know, but to each their own. I can't wait for next weeks episode, looks like a good one.
One thing, does anyone know how Enterprise is doing "ratings" wise?

Enterprise has been doing exceptionally in the ratings, and has really pulled in that ever-popular 18-40 bracket.

I'm about ready to give up as well. I haven't been able to sit through the entirety of a single episode so far.

"The series premiere was the highest rated show in the history of UPN"
Actually, second highest rated show. The premiere of Voyager (also the premiere of the UPN network) was, and still is, the highest rated show ever on UPN.

It's nice to see so many people giving it a chance. How many shows, past and present, took a while to find their groove? I think the show is fine and I will stick around. It will get better just like TNG did.

A rating is the percent of all television households (whether the TV is on or not) tuned to a show. The share is the percent of television households with the TV turned on, tuned to the show.
1 ratings point generally equals 1 million households (if I remember correctly), so in the "Broken Bow" example, 9.1 million people were watching, which was 12 percent of people with televisions turned on while the program was on.
Someone feel free to correct me if I've screwed this up...

That's about right, except that there's more than one person per household on average. 9.1 million households is I-dunno-how-many million people. Whatever that magic number is, you have to be careful, because sometimes they'll "do the math" and report viewership in millions of people, and that's a different number than ratings or households.
One place to read more about ratings is http://www.tvbarn.com/a/aboutratings.shtml

Oh come on, guys! Give the show a chance! I admit I'm not too crazy about it, but then again I wasn't too crazy about Voyager when it first arrived. I'm sticking with it for life now. [IMG]

I actually am beginning to like the song... I really started feeling that it fit the mood more than an electronic composition.... Its funny, becuase I have four or five copies of Trek CD's becuase I really like their music usually.
Heh... I also saw that it was written by Dianne Warren, so it's probably win an Grammy or something.

I found "Terra Nova" to be the most entertaining episode yet. The ideas that were presented were really what Trek has been about for the past 30 thirty years, except now it seemed fresh as these characters experienced it.
I remember reading someone saying Archer shouldn't have left his man in the caves, but upon viewing the episode I found Archer had no choice; when he's back safely on the ship Bakula is really conveying the fact that his character hates what he had to do.
Of course, I didn't find this episode to be some of the best Trek produced in the last 10 years, but it isn't meant to be. In order for a series to really hit it's stride, it has to get comfortable onscreen and off. Aside from the Original series, it took TNG and DS9 years to get its stride right. When Enterprise eventually does, oh boy, are we ever in for a ride!

Actually Shane, Peter is right. Voyager has ALWAYS been on UPN. It's premiere episode launched the network. You're just remembering it wrong. [IMG]
