Pio 1014 is THX Select Certified (will drive loads as low as 3.2 OHMs) and has MCACC auto EQ. It's sister AVR in the Elite line was independently tested to 115w/channel @ 8 OHM all channels driven.
I've owned HTR-5760 and now have the Pioneer 54TX. Yamaha makes a fine receiver, but, trust me, the Pioneer 1014 holds the "steal deal of the year" award for late-2004/early-2005.
just curious... i know alot of the local stores that carry the 1014tx around me (montreal Canada) like to inflate the price.. whats the average going rate you guy would pay? They wanted to give me a demo model for 680$ canadian which is 556$ american... where as future shop had them going for 500$ (about 410$ american) I'd order online but shipping prices to canada are kinda rediculous...
Oh and to stay on topic.. seriously go with the Pioneer. Its not just all hype, its the best bang for the buck.
best buy changed their price to 700$ Canadian now.. last week was unfortunatly the end of the boxing day craze that brought it down to 500$ and i was unable to get one ordered in time because they were outta stock.
