At the risk of turning this into a review thread (which I DO NOT want to do!), can you give me your opinions of Etronics.com? For obvious reasons, I'm thinking of purchasing the NSP1 group from here, but on the JBL webpage, they are not listed as an "authorized dealer" and I want to know that if I have any problems that I would be taken care of by their Customer Service dept. (Namely, a shielding problem that I've read about w/the NSP1's.
Thanks!

I've wondered about Etronics as well. This is in their information:
Etronics offers only nationally recognized name brand unopened factory fresh products to our customers. Our product managers and marketing specialists work constantly to evaluate and obtain only the best offerings from leading manufacturers. Our goal is to bring you products that represent the best in value, technology, quality, functionality and innovation. We make sure that all the products we sell are backed by comprehensive manufacturer warranties and technical support*. You can rest assured that no matter what you buy from Etronics, you've made a good choice.
*Please Note: We do not adhere to the Yamaha or Denon Internet and MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies, and are not authorized by them to sell their products via the internet. Yamaha and Denon products are not included in the statement made in the previous paragraph. However, we continue offering our customers Yamaha and Denon products at heavily discounted prices.
So they explicitly say they aren't authorized for Yamaha or Denon but they apparently are saying they are authorized for everything else. I've never been sure though since they may be going based off of their B&M store (I think they have don't they?) and that may not be applicable to their web-presence.

Jeff and Sean,
Thanks for the info.
Anyone else? Specifically I'm interested in first-hand experience, but 'second-hand' isn't bad either :)

Just got a Panny RP-91 from them ($419 + $20 s/h: nice!) and have no complaints. Ordered it Sunday night, shipped Monday, arrived Tuesday. Obviously, no problems with the unit (yet) so can't say anything beyond their service in supplying the goods.

Just FYI.
I ordered my NSP1 system from J&R because it was cheaper than at Etronics at the time, because J&R was offering free shipping on all JBL products (I think that ended around August 10th though). I'm not sure how much more J&R's price is with their shipping but you may want to check them out since they are definately authorized.

I ordered my Pronto from there. The first one was DOA. Called them, they made me call Philips and do a walkthrough to make sure it was dead. Philips opened a case for me and I wrote down the case number. Called etronics back, and got an RMA/RA or whatever and they sent me my new one. No real complaints at all. I assume they actually check with philips to make sure you called and they walked you through a procedure to determine if its broke, or at least thats what I was lead to believe. The only downside is, if it would have broke a week later, I would have had to send it to the manufacturer for warranty work, not like the B&M store where I bought my reciever where I can drop it off on their counter if it breaks within the warranty. I would have been SOL had I not tested it out right away.

Have you considered BPAV for the NSP-1 speaker package? Their prices are very competitive and they seem to have a very good reputation.
Good luck.

I have friends that have purchased products from them and they told me the service was good BUT-their shipping rates are ludicrous.Every time I've found a good price on their site, the savings are completely wiped out by the shipping rate.Case in point-for speakers I wanted the shipping weight was 50lbs and they wanted over $80 for UPS GROUND! I told them you've got to be kidding-I can ship that weight anywhere in the country w/insurance for $30-and I don't get a break on the rates because I don't have a commercial account like they do.Until they lower their shipping rates I won't order from them-just my .02 cents.

Hmmm...I guess it must depend on where you live? I just ordered a pair of JBL S38s from them last week and although they weighed 55 lbs, the shipping was $35. Their price was far better than anyone else I could find also. I ordered my Panasonic RP-91 from them a month or so ago. Both orders came in a timely manner and worked great. I would not hesitate to order from them again in the future.

When I got my DVD-A10, Etronics had a lower price than J&R. J&R wouldn't match because they claimed that Etronics is not an authorized Technics dealer. The J&R price ended up being significantly cheaper even with two day shipping because of Etronics incredibly high ridiculous shipping charges.

So far I've checked most all of the sites mentioned, and the low price seems to be around $279. BestPriceAudioVideo is one of those. And Etronics DOES seem to have high shipping on SOME things.
Anyone else care to 'chime in'?
