I have a choice of getting a really good deal on a new B&K AVR507 receiver (150Wx7@8ohm, 185Wx7@4ohms RMS) for around $2000 -usually on sale for $3000, versus the Yamaha 1400 (110Wx7@8ohm) with a Rotel amp RMB 1075 (120Wx5@8ohm RMS, 200Wx5@4ohm DIN power output-meaning?) for around $1800. The B&K I can get from a company called American Theater in New Jersey whereas the latter "seperates" I can get locally. My primary purpose is HT (95%of the time). Really can use some opinions here. Thanks

I would definietly get the 507 for the $200 difference in price because the preamp in the 507 will be superior to the 1400 and the amps in the 507 will be equivalent to the 1075 (plus there are 2 additional channels in the 507 for which the Yamaha channels are no match). The sonic qualities of the 507 are equivalent to any separates in the 3-4K range.

Just my humble opinion.
