I have a major problem! Costco has the older SD582HD5 for $2800. This is a 58" set from Costco and I have been reading all that I can from all of the forum sites. I have heard all the great stuff about the 533 being the newly badged Elite 510 from last year??? I can get 10% off of the 533 at Best Buy or possibly more if a friend that works for Best Buy gets it for me at their cost.

Would you guys get a 58" picture or a "better" 53" picture with adjustable aspect ratios???

Help me out with the dilemma!

    Thanks

    I'd ask a few questions.
1 - What size do you have now, what are you used to watching.
2 - What are you going to watch - DVD - HDTV.
3 - How big is your room.
4 - How much regular TV will you watch.
    I went from a nice 27inch to a 56" widescreen.
    I wanted 65" [IMG]
I got the HDTV tuner about 6 months after I got the set. I wanted the highest quality.
My room is 13 x20 so the 56 leaves just enough room for good speaker placement (projection fixes that if the stock market come back)
Regular TV is just OK. A 65" would make it look worse.
I'm a big fan of getting the best quality first then going for size.

    OK,

    Here's what I have now:

50" 16x10.5 ratio Pioneer (with a broken convergence board thats getting fixed)

-I will be watching Tivo mostly (115 hour unit)

-DVD's two to three times a week (maybe more)

-HDTV on Directv and over the air when I can afford a receiver

Our room is a medium sized family room (20 x 18 ft.) which has poor light control (with skylights) and vaulted ceilings (so a FPTV is out).

Would going larger make it worse?

    Which is the better deal?
