I've got an older Denon AVR-1803 that I've acquired recently.
Problem is I can only get my monitor to play on S-vid out, no picture on component out.
Also, with the monitor connected to S-vid out, I can only get picture on the S-vid in.
I can't get any display with my DVD player or DVR on RCA in or component in.
I've gone over and over the manuel and can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Some TV's shut down all inputs if one is being used. What TV do you use?

The monitor, Panasonic TH-42PW5 42" plasma, does have an option for selecting the type of input in the menu but it doesn't seem to matter. I only get a picture from the S-vid output on the receiver.
Also, I can only get the DVD and DVR to play on the S-vid inputs. I get nothing with the component or RCA inputs on the receiver. The audio in works just fine on the RCA in.

Got it. To get component out you need component in on the receiver.
I can't tell much of a difference between S-vid and component-vid picture quality.
I noticed a big difference in audio quality from RCA to optical.Wow.:emoji_thumbsup:

Yep - newer receivers are up-converting all video inputs to component. Apparently, not yours, mine either. I use S-vid for all.
