I calibrated with AVIA's Blue, Red & Green flashing bars and now have my set totally red push free, but I still have what I believe is a greyscale problem because when I am watching a black and white picture or dark scenes in color the whites and blacks have a pinkish red look to them, it's not too bad on DVD but Laserdisc and DirecTV look awful.

So my question is how do I calibrate my greyscale? I assume that the following are the settings to be adjusted

    G-DRV-H
    G-DRV-M
    G-DRV-S
    R-DRV-H
    R-DRV-M
    R-DRV-S
    R-CUT-H
    R-CUT-M
    R-CUT-S
    G-CUT-H
    G-CUT-M
    G-CUT-S
    B-CUT-H
    B-CUT-M
    B-CUT-S

which screens on AVIA do you use to calibrate greyscale?

    Greetings

You need the disc and about $3000 worth of measuring equipment at least.

Or just do it by eye.

    Regards

Hi Michael, i'll pass on buying the equipment for now and try it by eye [IMG] , are those the right values to be playing with (which ones specifically, I just need to lose alot of red) so R-DRV or R-CUT ?
And am I right in assuming that the S, H, M are the temp settings
Someone over at AVS asked me this:
So which one should I adjust (I am writing down all original values before changing so I guess I could try them all, but I figured since you know the answer I'd ask you and save myself a bunch of time [IMG] )
    Thanks in advance

I just lowered the red drive and red cut (I eyeballed the amount of red on a variety of dark scenes and greyscale patterns) then I re-calibrated with AVIA and recalibrated red & green push and now the picture is as near to perfect as I will get it.
I will probably let the set break in this way for a few months and then seek out a profesional ISF tech to calibrate the whole set.
