Hi, I am planning on buying my parents a home audio system, piece by peice since my budget is quite limited (you know a couple of speakers here and there as gifts) I already have an old receiver to use (until i get them a full set of speakers) but i was hoping i could get some advice on some inexpensive speakers to look into. I am looking at 70-80 canadian for 2 speakers, power is not an issue, nor is perfect sounds as i really dont think my parents would notice the difference. they actually claim they are happy with the one speaker in the side of the tv. cheers John
John, Get a secondhand / garage sale/ low-end Radio Shack speaker set. Even FutureShop speakers will be overkill in this case. I am familiar with the "Audioparent" system (a "Why Fidelity?" system). They'll love you still -JNS
I would look at the lower end of the Paradigm spectrum. They have some nice speakers for not alot of money. Like the titans or the atoms. Good performers for not much cash.
