Hello,

Well it's been awhile since I've been here but it's time to build a new system for my parents' new home. I think we've settled on...

Pioneer Elite 520 HD 53" tv
Denon 2802
probably dynaudio speakers
mission sub

I was wondering what DVD player would you guys recommend in the 300-400 range. It must be a true progressive scan, play cdrs, and anything else would be a bonus. I've been out of the home theater loop for awhile so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Doug,

There probably are too many threads here on 'which dvd to buy'. But I'll through my two cents in. The denon 1600 I just bought is a good one. The video quality is very good, no chroma error and it has dvd-a as well. I just bought my first dvd-a disk(and last probably since I have the sony 777es sacd player).

The denon is $500. Or Panasonic has a good rep here on this forum. And they have some new models coming out or are just out now. They are less money.
