I need help in finding the title of a film... (1 Viewer)

I need help in finding the title of a film I saw on cinemax or hbo one night a long time ago (no, not a nudie flick)

the movie took place in a car, on a remote highway with a group of people, possibly a family (I don't remember exactly)

another character or characters come into the picture, like they pick up a hitchhiker or something, and something bad happens

theres a building or something, and they keep re-living the same day over and over again, kind of like "groundhog day"


I know that sounds like a horrible description, but like i said it was quite some time ago, but the movie has stuck in my head for some reason, and I'd like to find the dvd....any ideas?!?!?!
