I want to build my own flexi rack but need some help.

Specifically thickness of the mdf and rods.

It will be a 4x4 rack with three shelves and the heaviest thing it will hold is my tv at approx. 140 lbs.

What thickness of mdf should I buy for this weight?
What thickness of rod should I buy for this weight?
Will four rods in each corner be enough or do I
need to add two in the middle?

Thanks for your help, I'll probably end up with a big
pile of sawdust but I am kinda excited to try.

3/4" MDF and 3/4" all-thread will work just fine.

I built one several years ago that my 210 lb TV sat on. Along with the 4 corners, I put 2 rods in the center, just inside and under the TV. This way the nut and bolt were not sticking up directly infront of the TV.

Thanks Ron,

Any pictures?

With a 4 foot long sheet I was worried that the rack would split in the middle when the tv went on, that's why I was thinking I would have to put rods in the middle.

I might be able to dig some up at home. Let me see what I can find.
