I need DVD player advice (1 Viewer)

I need to get a new dvd player. I would like one with good picture quality and the ability to play vcd and mp3's. I was looking at the Panasonic rp-56. Someone here suggested the Toshiba 4700. Now the replacement for the rp-56 is close to coming out. I am confused!!!!!! I just want the best buy in a DVD player that is $249 or less. Can some one give some advice or pros and cons of these players? I can get the rp-56 at Sears for $179.

Do not get the Toshiba 4700 if you want to use it for MP3's. I have the 4700 and the MP3's sound like shit. The picture quality is great and it has progressive scan. But if you want to listen to MP3's try the panasonic.
