Hey all,

I just watched Vanilla Sky a few days ago and I really enjoyed the movie but I have a question. As I was watching the final scene of the movie (on the rooftop) this rather fantastic, melodic, yet sad music began to play. It really brought the emotion out in the scene for me and well..... I WANT THAT SONG!

Problem being is, I dont know who it is by or what album its on. I tried checking in the credits but nothing looked familiar. Can anyone help me with the song title and group? Also what album its on and where I can buy it. I have had the song in my mind for 3 days and REALLY like it.

Any help is appreciated.

I just downloaded a good portion of that song to see if that was it..nope:frowning:
I dont want to give any spoilers away for the movie so Ill put spoiler bars up. The song plays while:
Its while Tom Cruises character David says goodbye to Peneleope Cruz and jumps off the building, its much more audible while he is falling
Thanks for trying:emoji_thumbsup:

Was it Sigur Ros--The Nothing Song? Also known as Njosnavelin. I'm pretty sure that is the song you are looking for.

Brian,

THAT IS IT!!! Thank you SO VERY MUCH! I downloaded a live version of the song that is pretty good quality. Is this available on one of their albums? I could only find one album listing for them and the song is not listed on the CD (I think I'll buy this particular CD anyway, I checked out a couple of their other songs online and I'm liking the group allot).

Hell I would even settle for a studio recording on MP3 at this point (Though I would much prefer it on CD). Any ideas?

I think the song according to the soundtrack is Svefn- G-Englar which there is an EP of the same name and is on the Agaetis Byrjun cd and noticed that the same title is on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack, I was going to say that or Jeff Buckley's Last Goodbye

Sigur-Ros will perform next Friday on the Craig Kilborn show on CBS. The band is going to play the song Njosnavelin. The song has not yet been recorded on an album but it will be in the movie Vanilla Sky, starring Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz. Two other songs with the band will also be in the movie.
So maybe it still hasn't been put on an album yet. Gives you something to look forward to at least.

Yep Paul,
After a little more digging I found that there is not yet a studio recording of the song. Sigur Ros is in the process of doing their next album which will have this particular song on it. The next album is due in September-October:frowning:.
Oh well, I will have to deal with the Live recording until then.
I bought the groups first album today (Actually found it!) and have to say I am really liking their music. Its always a pleasant suprise to find some new and interesting music to listen to. Thanks for the help Paul and the rest of you guys!:D

I love Sigur Ros....highly recommend them, glad to see you found them Romier.
Yeahm I havent been too much into music these past few years but once in awhile I will find something unique that perks my interest.
Now I gotta count down till the new album is released. Patience is a virtue. (Too bad I dont have that virtue:))
