I just moved across states for a job and it's been complete hell. First, I had to pack up all 500 discs so that they wouldn't get damaged. As my Dad was removing the feet from my TV so we could put it in the box he stripped the screws. We ended up giving it to the movers. A 65" 4k TV. I just bought a brand new 77" OLED 4k TV, got it delivered up 2 flights of stairs (barely) and then I bought a stand also got that delivered and set up. I finally plug everything in and am about to watch a movie for the first time in a month when I realize I can't find the f&^%$#%ing remote control. Unfortunately because I have the Sony X700 4k player, I need the remote to activate Dolby Vision. I looked in box after box but never found it. I will not be watching a movie anytime soon.

My cousin recently moved, and she misplaced her BluRay player. She still hasn’t come across it. Moving is a huge pain in the arse, and I hope I’ll never have to move again.

The practical challenge is that a big move can be so much that dealing with an errant remote easily falls to the bottom of the list against everything else. :)
I've been helping my elderly parents for the last several years, and with them, remotes just disappear and reappear constantly. So I ended up buying a handful of replacement remotes and stashing the extras away in a drawer. That way there is always at least one available.

This. Since moving in with me, my parents have lost two Apple TV4K remotes and a Vizio TV remote. I had to buy replacements for all of them. Magically, they’ve found three other remotes that don’t belong to anything.

UPDATE: I bought a $10 remote off Amazon that works. I also found my Roku player with cables attached....................but....................... NO ROKU REMOTE! I'm assuming it's wherever the other one is.

Sometimes you just want to fire yourself from your own life.

YOU: I can't believe someone left you in charge of something!

You: Well, I was doing my best...

YOU: You're fired!
