Shows shot on location (like Twilight Zone) and shows shot on interesting sets (Star Trek) really benefit from HD. Shows shot on a single set like Honeymooners and Dick Van Dyke, the big difference is that you can see textures in fabrics. I'm not saying that HD isn't an improvement over those old beat 16mm syndication prints distributed to TV stations. It's head and shoulders above that. But a well mastered modern DVD can look almost as good as HD. I have a bunch of TV shows that look great on DVD, even some modern shows that were shot in HD but only released on DVD.
