Ok i recently got a denon avr 2801, take 5+1 speakers, a panasonic rp56 and panasonic 34wx50 hdtv. Can anybody give me tips on maximizing the tv's quality? I have regular cable and it looks ok. I knew i would need a stong signal. Is there anyway i can increase my cable signal for better picture? Any suggestions on tuning the picture? Is the panasonic a good dvd player to complement the tv? I bought everything based on my friends suggestions.

All of your components look great for your new home theater! The RP-56 is very highly regarded around here.
The problem with your cable image is not an issue with signal strength, but a problem with cable television in general. Cable television is notorious for being the weak link in a home theater. It just doesn't have the resolution that DVD's or HDTV has. Often, it is also full of ghosting, static and other garbage.
To help with tuning your picture (and your audio) I would suggest buying a copy of Link Removed or Video Essentials (new versions of both are due out soon, but the existing versions will work great for you). It will be the best investment you can make in your theater. It will walk you through setting up your video and audio, and along the way explain why the changes need to be made and how they are affecting your picture/sound.
