Is that so hard? I can't justify buying the whole box set when really I only loved the first one.

Are they going to be releasing them seperately anytime soon?

    Help!

Maybe and surely on eBay after the release of the set. I'm sure someone will sell the 3 Movies and the Bonus Disc Individualy. Just wait.

You could also just buy the box set and sell off what you don't want.

Hollywood video was selling Godfather and Back to the Future movies used, individually.

Me too, I just want to own a copy of Raiders, and I don't want to have to jump through hoops to get it.. I'd imagine other people will also be selling off the rest of their box sets on Ebay so the precieved value of those discs will go way down. I can't justify paying over 45$ for one movie so I'm just going to have to pass on this release. [IMG]

I understand & sympathize with this predicament. Boxed sets of films should always be offered individually.

I am picking up the Indy Box as the 2 sequels are watchable. If I had the choice I probably would pick up only the first 2 (I'm one of the few odd-balls that prefer Temple of Doom to Last Crusade). [IMG]

I picked up the Scarface Box because both versions are must haves for me. Could've done without the case & other junk inside though.

The Godfather set was a no-brainer though given the choice I wouldn't have picked up Part III.

I'm up in the air over the Alien Quad set. I really only want the first 2 films but I am interested in seeing Fincher's Directors cut of Alien3. There's no way in Hell that I'd want Resurrection in my collection. [IMG]

other than selling them on eBay-one idea is to form a 'buying clique'-get 2-3 people together to commit to buying each part of a set-here at HTF, or among friends...there may be a person who only wants #2, only wants #3 etc...
Get 3 of those type people together and eveyones happy.

I would rather have #1 only on the IJT set...
likewise, I can do without ALIENS #2 & #4 from that set...

    Ditto to Dan.

I can see them on Ebay. Raiders - $30 - The rest $5. EA.
How many people would prefer the other two over Raisers?

Yeah sorry, but I don't think there is a human alive that would say the following:

"Shucks! Box set? Man...I really only wanted Temple of Doom, what am I gonna do now?"

    Well,

I'm just going to have to wait and see if Blockbuster sells previously viewed items...god I hate Blockbuster.

    Off topic...
I saw Temple of Doom (along with the other films) on the big screen and earned new respect for it. The film is just MADE for the big screen and loses some of it's OOMPH on the small screen.

    Back on topic... [IMG]

I'm sorry I just can't understand how you can "love" Raiders, but not want the other two in the series. It's not as if there was a neverending series of Indy sequels, only 2 were made thus far, by the same director and star, and both outstanding examples of that genre. If you wanted to limit your dvd collection to 50-60 dvds I might understand. But if you think they're both irredeemably awful... than thats too bad.

Raiders is the best of the three, but the quintessential Indiana Jones movie is
Temple of Doom IMO, a totally nutsoid scenario, evil Indian sorcerors, pits of lava, hearts ripped out of chests, crocodiles, bugs, chilled monkey brains, a rollercoaster adventure which barely pauses for breath, and no 'act of God' deus ex machina to save the day like in the other two adventures.

Buy the set and give the other 2 a chance with OAR and 5.1 they will be much better than the last time I saw them

Regarding Alien, with the Director's Cut coming out at Halloween - will it be released individually? Or, do I have to buy the box set? (Which I won't do.)

This may not sound very helpful to anyone, but consider that years ago, before DVD, the original Raiders and Temple of Doom and Crusade could be had on laserdisc and at about $30 each. Those discs were widescreen and had Dolby Pro Logic surround sound. So the price of the boxset isn't that bad. Consider you're just buying Raiders for the $55 or so dollars and you're getting the other 2 and the extras disc for free. And it's remastered and has 5.1 sound. What a deal!

Now you know how I feel with "Back to the Future". Love the first one, do not love the other two. Waiting patiently until I can buy only the first one...
