Hey, I just saw the rerelease of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (...playing at Regal Shadowood 16 on W. Glades Rd. and 441) this Sunday and I must say that it was one of the best movie experiences of my life. Just sitting there with about 20 other Python fans, thinking to myself where else can people sit at the end of a movie and laugh for 10 minutes at a blank screen after the movie?
Anyways, I was wondering if any of you guys went to go see it in the theater.
I just wish that they would rerelease some more older movies that I have never had the chance to see in theaters.
PS: The Lord of the Rings trailer was playing in front of it... woohoo!

I saw it when it first came out...1974/5 or so...high school
Toledo Ohio back then was not a big MPFC stonghold.
Theater was empty and the girl I was with was not impressed...think she never laughed (well maybe afterwards at my advances)
Still it was great to say I saw it when it came out
Later on at their other movies it always amazed me the amount of people

Why?
Why do you keep hounding me and harassing me and hounding me?
It's not like I don't have anything better to do, you know.
It's not like the Phantom Cruiser is going to wax itself.
It's not like last night's burrito stain will just up and remove itself from my cape.
I am a superhero!
A very very busy superhero! Who does...things!
Now get out of here before I tell your mother.
AND DON'T TRAMPLE MY BEGONIAS!

There was a short thread on this that recently fell off.
I thought it looked great. The "extra" scene that first appeared on the Criterion LD has been restored to match the rest of the film and it's placement is almost seemless.
But did you guys notice the other change...they changed the music when Galahad escapes the "doctors" and enters the bathing room with women everywhere like a scene from The Birds. It used to be a disturbing Twilight Zone feeling piece, but now it's been lightened up. I didn't dislike it but I prefer the original music.

I just realized that this is playing in Vancouver.
I'll have to make an effort to see it before it disappears. Weird that I'll probably see the movie and have the new DVD within a week. Now that's turnaround, baby!
