Ohh the horror! My Mothers Fiance is wanting to buy a home theater rig to use with his Tosh 54" TheaterWide HDTV RPTV and I knew he was looking. I asked him to please talk to me before he made any decisions. Instead he takes some knucklehead from work who aparently doesn't know a speaker from a flux capacitor. So I was talking to Mom tonight and she tells me he was looking at some Panasonic Receiver (Strike One) and a Bose Acoustimass Setup (Strike Two) at Best Buy (Strike Three, Your Outta Here!) and the total was something on the order of $2500.00 !!! ^&%&#&@#& !! Get my drift? I know what he is looking for in a speaker package, "Small" (This is not comming from my Mother either, she likes Towers) So I sat with her and showed her what is available in "smaller" speaker packages NOT from Bose. Lo and behold we picked out the AR HC6 Package and an Onkyo TX-DS797 and it comes to less than $1500.00 (Who'd A Thunk It???) I told her to keep her mind open on speakers because the JBL NSP-1 is also a "Must check out" (Phil should be happy!) and there are others that I plan on showing them. It's such a shame when people take advice from numbskulls who know dick squat about audio. Hey anyone remember the address to the web site that showed the frequency response tests of the AcoustiMass package? I want to show him the huge gaps in the Freq Resp. What's funny about all this is when I explained the way every company measures specifications of speakers except Bose and she said "Hmmmm, That sounds real Fishy to me!" Finaly someone gets it!!!!
