Anyone know if this is true or not?

This could be 100% BS, but I heard about it and want to know if this is fact or fiction.

First, I work in home theater at Best Buy.

To answer your question, this is from a hi-end home theater shop in LA.

sony doesn't have a rp lcd factory, sharp builds those (at least according to trade magazines, and the president of sony in an interview who said they were concentrating on crt's still)

Not true. Sony makes their own LCD microdisplays that they use in their RP LCD TVs.

Sony and Samsung have a joint venture for direct view LCD panels.

A search of several news portals (yahoo news) shows no mention of Sony and fire. So, I'd have to go with Didn't burn down for $400 Alex.

you guys are horrible some times.

if half of you would just respect a salesman, you wouldnt need to spend half the waking day in the forum getting information from a group of people who half the time have NO idea what they are talking about. a salesman is a job, its no different from what you do. its like someone coming into your office where you work and questioning everything you do without knowing all the specifics about your job.

Robert,

You're right...

I don't hate the individual Best Buy employees... I hate Best Buy in general. But that is more due to their lack of customer service and some pathetically-stupid managers.

im in the industry, and i dont have best buy, or any of their employees. best buy is an amazing company. think about it, they are paying their sales people pennies, and they know a great deal more than the majority of the public. granted, we are exceptions, because we hang around places like this. however, the average best buy employee is matched well to john q. public, considering how much cash the employee is payed (remember the phrase "you get what you pay for?"). at least around by me, they always want to help out, are generally friendly, and not completely dumb. I have respect for best buy. They are a generally "good" company. they dont have absurd policies and dont generally try and screw you over. sure, they push extended warranties, but its a business, and for the most part, almost anyone can benefit from an extended warranty if in fact they can afford it.
