It was a quick audition, but I finally heard them. It was a pair of Contour T2.5's (list 4500/pair) hooked up to Meridian equipment (very beefy and very expensive looking) and a Pioneer transport (their top of the line dvd player). The speakers were placed alone in one of their theater rooms (enclosed on all sides...seemed like a nice room) and were placed about 7 or 8 feet apart, using a slight toe in.
I only had time to play one cd, but I gave him some Dave Matthews I had bought along with me to put in the player.
It sounded good. But these same songs played on my 2000TL's (hooked up to yamaha dspA1) are amazing! I am very familiar with this disc, and interestingly the 2000TL's came across as more holographic than the Contours with this disc. Certainly the two speakers did sound a bit different, but (being very honest here) the 2000TL's seemed to have more natural tonal balance. I got a much greater sense that the performers were there in front of me. They seemed to be clearer (or cleaner in sound) than the Contours!
I know that I would have to take the Contours home and live with them for a while to make definitive conclusions, but after hearing them at the store and comparing them to the Def Techs I must say that the 2000TL's are really wonderful speakers even compared to some other well regarded audiophile speakers out there.
Enjoy the music!

Sorry for the "teaser" type title heading...I tried to edit it but I guess I can't. More appropriate would be "I heard Dynaudio today for the first time".

I'll "second" the Definitive rave. I auditioned the BP2002s a year ago and I was stunned how good their music performance was. My only concern with the Bipolar design in general is movie performance, but I'll admit that I didn't get enough experience with the 2002s to analyze their strengths/weaknesses for film.
