I'm upgrading my Onkyo HT and getting 2 new fronts that are much better than the standard Onkyo ones. I want to put the center channel sound to my new front left and right because the Onkyo center channel will be of considerably less quality than my new front L and R.

I can't figure out how to do this. Can anybody please explain this to me?

    Thannks,
    Kurt

i'm not sure which receiver you have (R500?), but there should be a choice in the receiver's setup menus that allows you to specify that you have no center channel speaker.

On the front panel, hit the "speaker adjust" button once. It should read "5 speakers". Then hit the "preset/adjust" button (the arrow on the left) once so that it reads "4 speakers". That should do it.
