I apologize for the redundance for this post, but with all the previous threads concerning this, I never saw any mention of anyone who had the S360 and had problems.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks a lot guys

    Rob

No answer, but your post reminded me of a great exchange:

    Is it safe?

Is it safe? ...Is it safe?

    What safe?

    Is it safe?

I don't know what you mean. I can't tell you something's safe or not,

unless I know specifically what you're talking about.

Yes. Yes, it's safe. It's so safe you wouldn't believe it.

    Is it safe?

    Is it safe?

Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, so safe you wouldn't believe it.

    Is it safe?

NO, IT'S NOT SAFE, IT'S VERY DANGEROUS, BE CAREFUL.

Sorry, the 360 does in fact fall victim to the subtitle problem. I sent away and received the fixed version, and it works fine.

It's safe in the sense that you won't get the subtitles that keep popping up inappropriately, but it's still true that the first Title card is missing the burned-in subtitle that should be there. But they've apparently decided not to fix that. [IMG]
edit: I just saw Chris' reply. That's odd, it doesn't happen on mine and I bought the disc on street date.

I have the same player and am afflicted by the subtitle problem, waiting for my replacement discs to arrive.

    I'm confused......
The table I created to track this has the DVP-S360 clearly in the list of players that were identified that DO have this problem....and also indicates that one person has reported that the "fixed" disk works properly.
Direct link to the Table of players
Did you all just overlook that row in the table?

It seems to only have problems with certain players.

The subtitles didn't appear on my father's Panasonic, nor my DVD-ROM. (My regular player is a Toshiba SD-1600)

Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it.

Has CTHV released a statement regarding how to look for the corrected version a la Jurassic Park DTS or Leon, or have they only been offering it through a phone number?

    Thanks again

ALL of the questions you're asking in this thread have already been answered in the previous thread we started up and have been maintaining since last year when Holy Grial: SE came out.
I suspect that the length of that thread is why this one was started. IF YOU THINK IT'S WORTHWHILE....I can start a 2nd thread with a summary of where things are, like this one at DVDTalk, which I created for the same reason there....
    Is it worth doing??
Rob M - To answer your last question directly...CTHV hasn't released ANYTHING officially. They haven't even acknowledged publicly that the disc has any problems. Further - there has been an ongoing series of posts by people in the original threads here, at DVDTalk and at Pythonline, all of which confirm over and over that CTHV hasn't made any changes to the disc that anyone can find that distinguishes the first pressing from the second...not that bunches of people aren't TRYING to find soemthing, though!
