i have an amd 1200mhz gateway system. it came with an nvidia geforce2 mx video card. for ram it was supplied with hyundai 128mb. i just recently bought two sticks of micron 256mb and took out the hyundai.
now the machine works like a champ when running normal programs, but when i play 3d games it goes ape and locks up completely. i have tried many things and the only way right now for me to play these games is to remove one stick and only run the one in the dimm 0 slot. any other slot running with it will cause this problem.
i would really love to hear any clues on this...also, windows does recognize the two sticks when in there together. i am running directx8.1, and the detonator 3 drivers. sound card is soundblaster live! value. it too should have reasonably recent drivers.
