I live in a semi-small city without a BB or CC. My living room is roughly 20'x20'. I have the Sony STR-DE1075 receiver as well. I watch TV and DVD's only, no music (radio). Please give me some of your personal recommendations.
I was considering the Klipsch silver quintet or the Polk RM7600 w/ PSW650G sub.

Your budget is 2000 for 5 speakers + external subwoofer?

The Paradigm Monitor series are very good. In particular, listen to the Monitor 7's.

I picked up some Axiom speakers and a SVS 20-39cs/Samson for a tad over $1700 recently.
I was able to find some factory blems and got a nice deal on these: Axiom M60Ti mains, VP100 CC, and the M3Ti for surrounds.

$2K is quite a bit to spend! [IMG]
    My preference for that money:
    ceramic nOrh 4.0 package - $850
    dual SVS 20-39CS w/amp - $1,200
It will probably end up being $100 or so more than you want to spend but will be one of the best systems out there. To get under budget, if that really concerns you, go with a single SVS 20-39CS w/amp.
    For speakers look at:
    ACI
    nOrh
    Def Tech
    B&W
    Paradigm
    Ascend Acoustics
    Swan Diva
    AV Reality
    For subs:
    Paradigm PW-2200
    SVS
    ACI Titan II
    Adire Audio Dharman

You can put together a Paradigm Reference Setup with around 2K...
    2 Studio 40's -- $650
    Studio CC -- $375
    2 Studio 20's -- $550
As far as a Sub, the best choice IMHO is an SVS Sub.... I have had the Paradigm Servo 15 and while it's a fantastic sub, and has low bass extension, the SVS puts out cleaner, lower bass....
    The 25-31 PC is around 670.... In a 20 x 20 room you might need the 20-39....
The setup I proposed for you comes in around 2245...
I suggest you go and demo a few different speakers, and really let your ears be the best judge..... That's the best advice I can give you...
    Good Luck,

I'm saving up for speakers myself and was looking at the Paradigm reference series myself.
(edit: questioned answered in previous post removed... DUH)

Here's another vote for Paradigm. If you shop around, you should be able to get a apir of Monitor 7s for fronts and a pair of Mini-Monitors or maybe even Monitor 3s for the rears and still have enough money for a good subwoofer. Paradigm makes several good subs, but also check out SVS, HSU and Def-Tech (Definitive Technology).
As alway, let your own ears be the judge. Good luck.
