I finally did it, I sold my old Lexicon dc-1 v2.0, and bought a ref 50. I hope all of your guy's raving is right. To be honest, I am a little concerened, I hope it sounds as good on Home Theater. Well, I will have Thx Ultra 2, Dts 6.1 discrete, and pl II. I will also be SACD ready! I am looking forward to trying it out tonight. Lexicon builds a great product, and there will always be a spot in my heart dedicated to them, but damn, they cost a fortune!!!

I'm looking at one of these as well. Do you mind if I asked what you had to pay for the 50? Make sure to post a review when you've had time to get acclimated to it...

    I love my B&K 50!

Dave you should be able to pick up a B&K 50 for $1500 to 1650 "new". You just have to shop around and know where to look.

I have mine up and calibrated. It sounds awesome. I watched biker boyz in DTS on it last night and the surrounds are so detailed and audible, without having to turn them beyond the calibration point. Yes, it has usb port upgradability. I love it, and DVDA and SACD is somthing to behold!!!!

Did you set it up with your computer and the disc or from the remote & on screen?

I set up the remote with my computer and the processor the old fashioned way. I enjoy calibrating and seting new components, it gives me a reason to take a day off!

Cool! I didn't know you could set up the remote with a computer also. I am guessing it is fairly easy.[IMG]

It is really cool, and the sound is liquid cool! I highly reccomend one. You should be able to pick one up for under 1500.00. That is a deal, especially when it is THX Ultra 2 certified. Unheard of in this price range.

This is incorrect. The Reference 50 does not have a USB port, it has a serial port to control the unit via PC. Firmware revisions(upgrades) require eprom replacement. This can be done free of charge through your authorized dealer or through B&K directly only.
