    I bought a non-OAR DVD.
I wanted to watch Deathtrap this weekend and none of my usual sources (public library, Hollywood Video, Blockbuster) had it available to rent. But I really wanted to watch it.
Best Buy not only had one in stock, but it was $6.99.

So, all I can do is pray that they re-release it in OAR so I can double dip. This is only the second DVD I've bought with the intention of double-dipping (Grease is the other).
BTW, I watched at the end, and it says it's filmed in Panavision. That means the OAR is 1.85:1, right? Or is it more complex than that? (See, I'm trying to learn here. [IMG])

Yes. I said it's the other title I've bought with the intention of double dipping.

I didn't mean to be confusing.

My name is Micah ["hi Micah!"] and I broke down and bought MOONSTRUCK on DVD because I just needed to see it already and I know that it will never ever be released correctly. And I have issues about it. [IMG]

Thanks, Ken. Now that you mention it, I think it did say the "cameras and lenses" thing.
And thanks for the absolution, Father Paul. [IMG]

I will buy non-OAR discs as long as a) there is not an OAR edition of the title on DVD and b) the title is obscure or non-commercial enough that a re-release in widescreen is unlikely.
I have quite a number of Warner and MGM discs that fall into one or (usually) both of these categories.

    I don't think we're ready for a 12-Step program just yet.
