I've found a more informative news article here.
Um, that's the same link I posted last night.

Hmmm...high school...ant mound...what's the difference?
The ants are doing productive work.
My point, which I wasn't very clear on, was that there are many invasions of privacy we are subject to with varying levels of necessity. Would you say it is wrong to search students for concealed weapons or drugs? Would it be wrong for a gym teacher to measure your weight? Wrong to have a dress code forbidding low-cut blouses, miniskirts, no bra, etc.?
Searching for concealed weapons or drugs, within reason (a pat-down, or going through a backpack, is enough) and only if called for (don't just randomly search people without cause) is fine. Dress codes exist for a reason, but underwear should never be part of that dress code. It doesn't matter what sort of underwear you're wearing (or even whether you're wearing any at all), because nobody can see it anyway. Same thing with bras. Now, I would submit that if a girl came to school without a bra and you could plainly see her nipples to the point that it was pornographic, then yes, send her home and make her either put on a bra or a more appropriate shirt. But you don't go removing layers of clothing to make sure what's underneath is appropriate. If it looks decent from the outside, then that's all that matters. Period.
No justice in this world I tell ya, no justice.
This is usually true when public schools are involved. Here in Seattle an honor student showed up 20 minutes late to a test (I forget the reason, but I think it had to do with some other school/college work), and as a result they will not let her graduate. Had she taken the test and flunked it, she would have passed the class just fine, but the school felt that they needed to "uphold their high standards" by not allowing this honor student to graduate. But where are these "high standards" when an assistant principle starts doing impromptu thong checks at a school dance? These incidents are usually "unfortunate", but forgivable.
As far as the punishment goes, she is demoted from an assistant principle to a regular teacher, giving her more direct access to the students. Is this a good thing?
Rita Wilson's thong check April 26 in front of male students and adults had enraged parents, one of whom threatened to sue.
Priceless. Just priceless. Threatened to sue. Aaaargh.
I hate it because this is simply not justice. I can't even believe i have never heard of this incident outside of this board.
Oh, and i can bet quite a few of us were geeks in school and were made examples of, either by authorities or bullies. Who gets to surf the net all day at work now, eh? Not the sods working in menial jobs or the cheerleader still working at the grocery store in her hometown!

It's showing up elsewhere. It made it to my own off-topic forum and has been source of much discussion on political forums I frequent.
So, in order to prevent laws being broken, you break the law. I see.
A very interesting comment, and one deserving its own thread.... someday.
Meanwhile, i hope this sexual-assaulting b-h rots in hell.
