At Target right now and see there’s a NEW Mr. Rogers set called the “Would You Be Mine” collection. Looks to be the same layout as the last one, same number of shows from the same years (so still nothing before 1979.)

Would buy this right away, but since they messed up the frame rate on BOTH the original and “corrected” sets last time I’ll wait until someone verifies they didn’t make that same mistake here. Also wondering if this one includes the complete openings and closings unlike the last one.

No "bonus episode" this time?

I might pick it up if it's cheap enough, but I'd definitely be "in" if they released a set of the early seasons. I would have watched the show probably the first few years or so, when I was part of the target audience. While I'm sure the shows he did later are good too -- I have watched and enjoyed some in recent years -- it doesn't have the same "draw" for me as the ACTUAL shows I would have watched as a kid.

It’s only $14.99 for several discs as was the last one, but I want to make sure they didn’t mess up the video again like they did on BOTH versions of the first one. Complete opening and closing on each show would be great too, but at least give me the right frame rate like my CED videodiscs have.

Okay, I bit the bullet and picked this up.

It says 30 episodes, but there are actually 31. All from 1979 and later. They are mostly in chronological order -- though not comprehensive, one or maybe two from a week's storyline. The last two are from 2000.

Then at the very end of the last disc, there is a "bonus episode" as on the previous set, but in this case it's just another episode from the time period covered here, just placed way out of chronological sequence.

The episode in question is #1481 (Competition/Part 1), with the visit to the crayon factory (original airdate June 1, 1981).

There appears to be no "play all" feature, each show has to be selected from the menu. The very good news is that there is no futzing around with the openings and closings. Each show plays straight through from beginning to end as originally aired. The only alteration appears to be replacing the PBS IDs at the end with a modern version.

I don't know if I'm qualified to speak to frame rate issues.

I sure would like a set of shows from the early years, which I would have seen as a kid. (I'm sure these 1980s/1990s shows are very good, but they are not the ones I saw back then. I have seen a few, and I'll check the rest out.)
