Hulk DTS for Region 2-4, but not for Region 1! (1 Viewer)

Region 2-4, will get a DTS track, but R1 will get only dolby digital, Spanish 5.1, and French 5.1 DTS will be on both the 2 disc and 3 disc boxset from R2-4. You can see a picture on the DTS symbol on the hulk over at blackstar. The link is below. There is a petition over at the www.hulkmovie.com for the boxset released here in the USA.

Ugh, sometimes it just tough being R1, I guess those with multi-region players will have good time.

Region free dvd players have come down in price. I got mine for 69 bucks. Its a cyberhome 402.. I got at radio shack. It does the conversion from PAL to NTSC perfectly.

That is odd....usually we, down in region 4 land miss out on DTS. PAL is higher res, so takes up more space, leaving less space for extras like DTS. Personally I wish they would just drop all the special features and put DTS on all discs

I knew that PAL was a higher res.. didn;t know that it took more space for it.. that does make sense.

Why is Universal witholding DTS from a release like this? Not only is it a fairly big title, but this soundtrack deserves the DTS treatment. Heck, I'd rather just have a movie only with DTS. C'mon Universal, the so-called supporter du jour of DTS, give us DTS on titles like this!

Well, try looking at it this way: at least with the R1 you get to hear the movie at the correct pitch. Sure the DTS track might sound a tiny little bit better, but if it's been irrecoverably altered by speed-up why bother with it?

Ok, let me get this straight:
I live in R1.
Many, many movies are made in R1.
The best versions of R1 movies usually are in R2-R4.

What gives?

Is there anyway to get the Korea 3 disc boxset version?? Korea is under region 3, NTSC, no speed up problem, and DTS sound. What with the 3rd disc? but we wanted more isn't it?

I'm all for leaving out DTS but only if the bits are used to improve picture quality. Death to French and Spanish 5.1 tracks, subtitles only, please!

Speedup is very real and some of us can hear it.

Most domestic movies are not better in other regions, but it does happen.
