You'll need to purchase the domain name first. Most of the companies you buy names from allow forwarding for HTTP and mail.

    Felix,

    I use tera-byte / redirection.net

    http://redirection.net

    http://tera-byte.com

They're related to each other. Tera-byte provides the domain name, and redirection.net provides the redirection services for emails and web addresses. It's very useful, flexible, and relatively cheap.

Your domain name registrar should provide redirection as part of the basic service. Likewise, email forwarding.

I use http://servercentral.net. I have http://shoutingman.com hosted; I also have http://fischer-net.com registered and they provide a redirection serve as part of the domain registration. I also have a fischer-net email address that is just forwarded to my regular email address.

There are a couple types of domain redirection. One type simply redirects to the alternate domain name; you type in www.fsuwarmo.com and you go to www.vhylynx.net. There is a frames redirect that does the same redirect, but it places the alternate website (vhylynx) in a frame so the browser still displays the original domain name (fsuwarmo.com) as the apparent address.
