htr 5550 or htr 5760 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

I currently have the htr 5550, and I am very happy.

will I gain alot more going from 75watts to 95watts per channel that the htr 5760 has ????????

I've had 3 Yamaha receivers: HTR-5560, HTR-5660 and HTR-5760. The biggest change between your 5550 and the 5760 that you'll notice will be the sound. The newer receivers are much more neutral sounding and less bright.

The power difference will be very hard to tell.

When you say that the biggest difference is sound, does it get better or worse with the newer recievers (HTR-5660 or HTR-5760).

Peter,

The sound gets better with the newer receiver. Being more neutral sounding and not as bright as the older models really makes the receiver enjoyable.

On thing that you might consider as well is that the 5550 would be rated with 5 channels driven. the 5760 is rated at 95wrms with all 7 channels driven. So with only 5 channels running it would be higher.
