I just built a little HTPC for my living room. Its running winxp sp2 and is using a nvidia gf2 ultra that I had laying arround. All drivers and updates are current. The problem Im having is this. When I change the display to 720x480 and upen up a media file, no matter what player Im using the video overlay is shifted to the right by 50%. Everything works fine in 640x480 and 800x600.

Have you tried running Powerstrip? While 720x480 SHOULD be a fairly standard resolution, the video card might have a small problem in reproducing this resolution and still maintaining position.

I would try downloading Powerstrip and change the backdoor and frontdoor settings to get your image lined up on the screen.

The desktop and everything else lines up fine its just video playback in windowed mode or full screen. So even if Im say using windows media player and its in a window in the center of my screen only half of the video shows up. Its very odd.

    Thanks for the suggestion though
