HTPC DVD player suggestion? (1 Viewer)

I am getting together my HTPC now and am looking for the best DVD player/recorder.

I an not really interestd in regions.

The thing I most want, though it may sound silly, is a DVD pleyer that will open when I press 'open' with little or no delay.

It seems every DVD player I've ever used will open after a few seconds... sometimes. Sometimes it does not and reacts as though I just put in a new DVD. I really hate this because I am an impatient SOB. Instant gratification takes too long.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Have you considered getting a slot drive (no openning or closing )?

I'd be pleased with a slotdrive if when you press 'eject' the disck comes out with very little or no delay. Is that standard or does it have the same hesitation as other drives?
