HTM MX 500 remote LCD screen always on? (1 Viewer)

I just got my MX500 today and notice that the LCD screen is on all the time. Is this normal, I see on the box that it should last 6 months on the batteries I would assume that it would turn off the screen to make the battery last longer? Thanks to all who made the recommendation of this remote, it rocks. I am finially able to control everything on my home theater and even switch between sources with a touch of the button thanks to macros and punch though.

Yes, it's always on. The LCD uses very little power. It's repeated use of the backlight that would shorten your battery life.
