HTIB? Newbie! (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to decide what the difference is in these three HTIB. If anybody knows or has personal recommendations please help me out!

Kenwood HTB204

Kenwood HTB504

Pionner HTP-710

The highly regarded HTB-504 comes with an excellent receiver from Kenwood's current line up, the VR-507...it has DD, DTS, DPL II and 5.1 Circle Surround. For the $500 or less that you can this package for I would recommend it over the HTB-204 which comes with a lower level/older receiver (not sure exactly which one) and over the Pioneer.

I've had the HTB-503 (1 step down from the 504) for a year. It's an excellent value; just take the time to calibrate it and position it correctly. If you're new to home theater it may be a better idea than spending more money up front. You can expose your ears to it for a while, and then when you upgrade you'll know what you're listening for, and you'll still have a decent receiver.

Hmmmm, I would go with the Yamaha YHT-18. Better receiver and speakers.
