"Pacific Rim" is a must-own 3D title. It's one of VERY few that becomes a much better movie compared to the 2D version!

Yeah the 3D is great. Movie itself is pretty mediocre I thought.

I thought it was a "C+" movie 2D but I see it as a "B" 3D. The 3D really did improve the experience...

I’d give it a C+, add in 3D and it’s a B-. Add in that little girl early in the move and it gets to B.

I find it a huge let-down, coming as it does from del Toro, whose other movies I revere. Crassly commercial, and looking like a Michael Bay TRANSFORMERS movie. I'm glad he didn't direct the sequel, and will hopefully get back on track. It's an okay movie to watch if you have a 3D display as I do, but it doesn't feel like del Toro. It feels like a movie any hack director with a damn near unlimited budget could have made.

You know GDT won an Oscar after he made "PR", right? Seems like that = "getting on track"...

Yes, it is, and the Oscar was well-deserved. I hope he remains in that groove.

Ditto. I thought SOW was a disappointment after all the hype and awards.

I resisted buying it even though it was 3D.

It's a decent movie, but it's basically an art house version of "Creature from the Black Lagoon" with sex! :D

If you find a 3D "Shape of Water", buy it because it's one of a kind! :D

Just finished watching The Lion King with my wife, Fantastic! we’re no strangers to Disney classics and I’ve no issues with remakes so long as We enjoy the film which we certainly did!.
Firstly the AR of 1.78:1 really opens out the image on a 106” screen from a projection point of view.
CGI Image quality was excellent and packed with details, one minute it’s like watching a David Attenborough documentary the next your singing along, comedy and sadness all packed within a nearly 2hr film. We enjoyed this more than the original !.
Audio was typical Disney of late with having to crank the volume but it was quite impressive especially dialogue which was crystal clear.

The 3D was a mixed bag, no pop outs per se’ just like looking through a window, I would say from very mild to ‘medium on a few occasions’. Some of the rocky scenes where the characters were looking out over had a good sense of dimension and bright scenes really popped. Dark scenes had great black levels and an eeriness to them.
On occasion some characters in the foreground had a slight cardboard cutout appearance which was a shame, if only those shots had separation for some pop out it would of been fantastic.
We will be watching the 2D Blu ray included at some point just to compare notes but I doubt I will buy the 4K uhd.

Not perfect but a recommended from me.

Watched 3D Dumbo last night. Kind of a disappointing film. I was hoping for more from Tim Burton. The 3D was nice, but nothing special.

But it was fun seeing Danny DeVito on-screen again (with his monkey nemesis), and the kids were pretty good.

Whew...finally finished the 8 movies. Glad they had the 8th one to tie it all together.

The 3D was so-so and the audio too. To the completest, it's a must for your collection. :3dglasses:
