Did you post some numbers that could be on the 3D disc detecting the correct one ?.

I thought I did, but with all the different threads I may have gotten lost

You can also check the file dates if you had a BDROM. I forget exact dates, but I think the originals were June or July and corrected dates was late Sept or Oct.

    Corrected Inner ring codes are
    (1057486) 2110795R1 01E 030001
    (1057487) 2110795R1 01E 020001

    Original codes...
    (1045535) 2092919R0 02E 010001
    (1045536) 2092919R0 01E 010001

Also from Paul H. - I'm not exactly sure how to get his discID codes, but maybe something like DVDProfiler

We watched Beowulf last night, I have only seen the 2D uncut version before and I did miss the missing parts, but wow the 3D was fantastic!, it was like an opposite to the normal 3D we’re seeing where depth is paramount. I noticed hardly any separation to backgrounds and distant objects but bid to foreground had pretty strong separation and therefore pop out, a few scenes had sword / lance type weapons coming right out the screen into the room!. Also there seemed to be ‘pop ins’ with stuff coming from behind and into the background. Only a couple of scenes looked a little odd but overall it was a joy to watch.

To be clear. The 3D version is the theatrical cut.

Damn good 3D as it should be, since it was filmed with 3D cameras. There are a few spots that are flat, but overall a good film...and interesting. :3dglasses:

Ok, but what is in the 2D version of Beowulf that isn’t in the 3D?

Never mind. I hadn’t seen the link above when I wrote this.

Thank you 3d Film Archive for this. I never heard of this, so it has a place in my sci-fi/horror collection. Truthfully, I would never have bought this were it not for the 3D.

When that pipe almost hits you in the face and the blood drips into your lap...what great 3D!

Thanks 3D Film Archive for another gem.:thumbsup: :3dglasses:

Could not agree more. A 3D disc release would have been a guaranteed blind-buy for me based solely on the subject matter and effort invested in the project.

As it is, I caught a showing on HBO. What was on display in the 2D colorized version was impressive and moving, but I really felt cheated knowing that 3D would have had me even more emotionally involved in the film. Therefore, there's no reason for me purchase the existing Blu-ray. Half a loaf is not good enough.
