I haven't seen this yet, but I did just watch Ringu 2, does this abandon the plot (such as it is) of the Japanese sequel?

Ringu 1 and 2 bored the crap out of me, I quite liked the remake, and the sequel while way overlong was okay. I've seen far worse horror fare this year. Cursed, Darkness, Boogeyman, anyone?

The Ring Two has a completely different storyline.

I think it's kind of sad that I found the 15 minute "Rings" short to be better and more entertaining than the entire "The Ring Two" movie.
