Gregg, that's the first time I've heard about DTS being added to DVHS. DTS 96/24 is a natural for this format.
I only wish someone would come out with a DTS 96/24 compatible software decoder so I could test out that one DVD-A I have with it.
I never found ID4's "pro-american" stance insulting or unfunny. On the contrary, the movie mocked America big time and was never afraid to show off its most obvious faults to viewers. The inane president's speech. The endless flag waving. America saving the world. It was all mockery, and everyone who saw the film agreed: it wasn't real patriotism what was shown on-screen. It was popcorn-patriotism - and it was great.
There are more high end pre-amps and receivers coming out with DTS 24/96 decoding with this coming production year.
I believe there are currently available receivers from Denon and Pioneer Elite with DTS 24/96 on board (maybe some new Kenwood's). I think the upgraded Tag, new Anthem, and Krell Showcase pre-amps have it too.
