    Prince's "The Rainbow Children".
Any of you heard this CD and what do you think of it? I don't know how to categorize this but to call it jazz/funk. I got turned on to it when I saw Prince live a few months back and it's a real departure from what this guy usually does.
Just wonder if anyone had any opinions good or bad. I think this was the spark that got me interested in exploring more jazz. [IMG]

So should I turn in my membership card because I mentioned Prince and jazz in the same sentence? Huh?

Sorry Al, the only Prince I have is the two greatest hits compilations. While admire his talents, I find his album to be rather inconsistent.

Prince does use jazz sometimes, and he does know his stuff. Miles Davis expressed appreciation for his music as well.

I have not heard this album.

    You should check it out.

I seem to remember reading on another post that you like conceptual kind of stuff. On a 1-10 scale, I give it a 7. There's a few numbers I don't care for on it, but as a whole I like it.

    You just might be surprised.

Prince is an extremely eclectic and talented musician, so I believe he could actually lay down a decent jazz album. But I haven't heard the record [IMG]
